CUNA
About Us
Building a better represented community in Valley West/North Arcata
Our Purpose:
CUNA is a grassroots Latinx led bilingual project to build a better represented Valley West. North Arcata is a traditionally underserved, disadvantaged, and vulnerable community. We have often been referred to as the "other Arcata" or Arcata's Black Sheep. We believe that by focusing on community engagement and strategic collaboration, we can collectively work towards building a better represented and thriving Valley West.

Our Vision:
As we begin to build trust with our city government, community residents, and local businesses
our bilingual group has the long term goal to develop a Resilience HUB/Family Resource Center so that
community members can have access to essential services. The goal is to continue to identify community needs
in order to create services and outlets for community members who are in need of support.

We are excited to share our long term goal to work collaboratively with the community to create
Resilience HUB/Family Resource Center has come to fruition! During non disaster times, the Resilience HUB will act as a Family Resource Center, a community gathering space, and educational resources for all.
We anticipate the opening of our Resilience HUB/Family Resource Center in late August 2024.
